In iOS 15, Safari now supports third-party extensions that can be downloaded and installed through the App Store. Extensions can change how the Safari browser works and even add additional features to it.

For example, third-party Safari extensions can include content blockers, VPNs and more, which can make browsing safer and less intrusive.

In addition, developers can now create universal extensions that will work on Mac, iPhone and iPad. They can also be supported by other browsers, such as Chrome, Firefox and Edge.

How to find extensions:

  • Launch the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad
  • Scroll down the menu and select Safari
  • Under “General,” tap “Extensions
  • Click on “More Extensions

This last step takes you to the App Store section of the Safari extensions that you can browse and install if you wish. Some extensions are free, while others require a purchase.

After you install an extension, you’ll see it listed in the “Extensions” section of your preferences. There you will be able to manage them – to set them to work or to disable them.
